GENDER TRAINING INSTITUTE (GTI)

GTI strives to become a centre for excellence, capacity building and skills development in transformative feminist/gender and social development of key development actors at various levels to strengthen/raise their capacity for movement building and to address women empowerment, gender equality/equity and social justice in all development processes discourses.

 The Institute continues to be transformed so that it becomes a fully fledged semi-autonomous institute   from TGNP. It also acts as a key institution that develops a resource base of facilitators and other resource persons for responding to different stakeholders, including programmes within TGNP. Year 2008 and 2009 provides a room for GTI to grow into a full fledged Gender Institute.

 Core out puts

o   The leadership and facilitation mechanisms for the functioning of GTI as a semi-autonomous entity enhanced;

o   Training and capacity building for enhanced feminist movement and gender mainstreaming;

o   Monitoring and evaluation of impact ofGTI training developed and strengthened.

 GTI Activities

·    Establish institutional and management systems for a functioning of GTI as a semi autonomous entity

·    Finalise GTI's growth processes during the first two years. 

·    Enhance organisational development processes of GTI

·    Enhance organisational development processes of GTI

·    Marketing of GTI courses

·    Develop strategies that enables GTI to identify training needs so as to sustain and feed the movement

·    Re-strategizing and moving further to feminist knowledge base, tools, materials, manuals, etc

·    Implement Monitoring and Evaluation activities
